Updates
Automatic updates arrive with our signed releases. Until then, a new version takes a minute to install and keeps your sessions.
Right now
Automatic updates switch on with our first signed release. Until then, download the new disk image and drag the new XAgents over the old one in Applications. Your sessions and settings are kept.
If Set up XAgents finds an earlier setup, it saves a backup before it changes anything. Restore previous setup puts it back.
Once automatic updates are on
- XAgents checks shortly after it opens and then once a day. A titlebar pill reads Update ready · Restart when one is staged.
- Every download is checked against a checksum and a signature before anything is installed.
- A new version installs when the window restarts, or when you quit with no agents working. If agents are working, XAgents asks: Restart Now, When Agents Are Idle or Cancel.
- Your agents keep running while XAgents restarts.
- If a new version fails its health check, the previous version comes back automatically. The pill reads Update rolled back, and Settings › Updates shows why.
