Global search
New in v0.4
One box to find any tab, space, prompt, final message or changed file, and jump straight to it.
Press ⇧⌘F, or choose Navigate › Search Everything…, to search your work and jump straight to the tab. Results are grouped by kind:
- Agent and terminal tabs, by title, space and provider.
- Spaces.
- Needs-you items. With an empty query, this is all the panel lists.
- Recent prompts you typed.
- Your agents’ final messages.
- Files your agents changed.
Use ↑ ↓ to move, Return to open and Esc to close. A prompt or final-message result opens its tab. A file result opens the tab and its Files pane. A space result switches to that space.
⌘J stays Jump, the session switcher. You can rebind ⇧⌘F in Settings.
Private by design
- Everything stays on your Mac. Search doesn’t use the network.
- The index is a file in your own state folder, readable only by you, and it is built only from the sessions XAgents knows about.
- Text matching common secret patterns is redacted before anything is written: API keys, tokens, passwords, private keys and credentials in URLs. Pattern matching can miss unusual formats, so the index stays as private as your transcripts: on your Mac, readable only by you.
- Edits to secret-looking files, such as
.envfiles and private keys, aren’t indexed at all. - Messages XAgents sends on your behalf, such as agent-to-agent updates, are left out of your prompts.
Kept light
The index updates in the background at low priority and never slows the app. It pauses while Your apps first is in force, and a search you run yourself still refreshes it. It keeps your most recent 20,000 items and forgets transcripts it hasn’t seen for 14 days.
