What’s new in XAgents.

We ship small and often. Here is everything that has changed, newest first.

Latest

A guided first launch, and a steadier core

  • A welcome and a tour. New installs open on a welcome that checks your Claude setup, then a nine-stop tour pinned to the real controls: spaces, tabs, new agents, Jump, helpers, Needs you, sleep, the browser and zoom. Return moves on and Esc skips. Replay it from Help › Show Onboarding Again.
  • Never in your way. If you already use XAgents, the tour never interrupts you, and the workspace stays usable the whole way through.
  • Crisp at any size. Text stays sharp at every zoom level, from 50% to 150%.
  • Your Mac sleeps on time. XAgents keeps your Mac awake while agents work and lets it rest the moment they stop.
  • Steadier under the hood. Background services close their database connections cleanly, and an agent and its helpers go to sleep together.
v0.1.3

Every tab in view

  • Nothing hidden. Agents and terminals are plain tabs sized to their names, in one row. No menu hides a terminal or a sleeping agent.
  • Helpers unfold in place. A parent’s quiet count expands its helpers as smaller tabs right after it, in the same row.
  • Sleeping agents tidy themselves. After three days asleep, an agent moves to Archive with its conversation kept. Agents that are working, need you or have live helpers never move.
  • Real names. Tabs are named after the first real request in the conversation, not a generic launch title.
  • Resume finds the right conversation. Every time, with no guessing. If a conversation is missing, you choose. Return or ⌘R on a sleeping tab resumes it.
v0.1.2

Calm tabs, one window

  • A cleaner tab bar. Each tab leads with its state: amber when it needs you, a ring while it works.
  • Helpers stay out of the way. Only main agents can ask for you, and viewing a helper shows “Parent › Helper” so you always know where you are.
  • One window. Links, the Dock and reopening all come back to the same window. A dropped connection offers Reconnect instead of an error.
  • Whole-window zoom. ⌘+, ⌘− and ⌘0 scale the interface and the terminal together.
  • A steady window. Dragging the sidebar, the browser split or the window resizes the terminal once, after you let go.
v0.1.1

The built-in browser arrives

  • A calm workbench. Needs you and Activity lead the sidebar. Hide it with ⌥S, or clear everything but the conversation with focus mode, ⌥F. Both color themes are contrast-checked.
  • A browser beside the work. Open it with ⌘\. Each space keeps its own logins, agents drive it with 35 tools, and Point and tell (⇧⌘C) attaches any element to your message.
  • See what changed. The Files pane renders what an agent touched: Markdown, HTML, images, PDFs and diffs. Notes on a file go straight into your next prompt.
  • Bring in a second opinion. Continue a task with Codex in the same tab with ⌥⌘S, then switch back to Claude where you left off.
  • Ready on any Mac. A first-run check covers your CLIs, versions and sign-in, and new installs ask before an agent acts.
  • Fewer false alarms. An agent counts as finished only after 20 quiet seconds, and Activity shows only what deserves a look.
  • Tested before it reaches you. Every release passes 13 end-to-end checks in a separate test build first, with a one-step rollback.
v0.1.0

The first release

  • Idle agents sleep. After an hour without activity an agent sleeps, and resuming restores its model and effort. Working agents never sleep, and a message from a linked agent wakes one.
  • Efficiency mode. Agents you aren’t looking at, and their tools, run on the efficiency cores. The one in front of you keeps full speed.
  • A lighter runtime. Idle wake-ups dropped from about 165 to about 12 a second, and the workspace refreshes in 7–11 ms instead of 79.
  • Agents know who they are. Parent and helper links survive restarts, handoffs and new sessions.
  • Picks up after sleep. Replies cut off when your Mac slept continue on their own. On power, your Mac stays awake while agents work.
  • Sharper text, smarter links. Crisper terminal text on standard displays, and ⌘-click opens web links and files from the terminal.
